What's Your Opinion?
Compiled by Bill O'Neill

Question: As crime in the community continues to drop, do you and your family feel safer on the streets and at home? why or why not?

"Crime came down maybe because people are becoming more aware - and trying to keep an eye on their community. Ifeel safer because it's our community. And if we watch out for the community, we'll all be safer." -Steevi Lucias, Starrett City
"I feel a little safer now that crime is down. Idon't go out late at night anyway. I'm careful. I definitely feel a little safer." -Bill Dow, Canarsie
"I think the streets are getting worse day by day due to the fact that there is not enough police presence. No, Idon't feel safer." -Ariel Santiago, Canarsie
"I always feel safe. Iknow how to navigate my way around. Yeah, Ifeel safer with crime going down. But the crime just moves to another area." -Shawn Chase, Bedford Stuyvesant
