JCCC Honors Congressman Rangel
Rabbi Avrohom Hecht, right, executive director of the Jewish Community Council of Canarsie recently officiated at a breakfast honoring Congressman Charles Rangel, left, chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee. "The congressman has been very supportive of any work geared to uplift and help our youths to achieve their goals in life," said Rabbi Hecht. "I have always admired Congressman Rangel as a man who brought himself up from modest beginnings to prove that if you try hard enough you can make a success of yourself." The tribute breakfast was held at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan.
