What's Your Opinion?
Compiled by Bill O'Neill

Question: The U.S. Mint is about to release millions of gold-colored dollar coins bearing the likeness of George Washington. even though the two previous $1 coins were rejected by the public, Will you spend the new coins or will you put them away and collect them?

Correction: In last week's issue, one of the opinions was incorrectly attributed. The response should have been credited to Gerald Ciccone of Queens.

"I don't have a problem with George Washington on a dollar coin. I feel that money is meant to be spent. It doesn't matter who is on the coin, just as long as it has the certification of the U.S. Treasury." -Kevin Morris, Canarsie
"I'll collect 'em. If I can collect 'em all, I'll collect them all. It's valuable for the next generation." -James Sanders, Canarsie
"I might save the first few. But eventually, I'll start spending them. I would always keep two or three around. You capture that important time for that minute. Those coins can come in handy down the road." -Miguel Ramos, Canarsie
"I'll save them for sure. They might be a collector's item someday. Maybe a long time from now they will be worth a lot to somebody. Like if you had a buffalo coin from way back, it would be worth a lot today." -Charles Bailey, Canarsie
