What's Your Opinion?

Question: a state senator has proposed imposing a $100 fine for New Yorkers who use personal electronic devices while crossing the street. Do you agree or disagree? Briefly explain.
 | | "How are you going to enforce that? That's the problem. The state senator has a great idea, but it's not practical. Everybody has a cell phone or iPod nowadays. It's not enforceable."

 | | "They should do this. People have to know what's going on around them. Reminds me of a time I asked someone for directions - and he had an iPod on too loud, thinking that I was trying to assault him - and ran away. Meanwhile, I was only asking for directions.

 | | "I think it's ridiculous. I think it's a common sense issue more than anything else. It's up to the pedestrian and the driver to be alert. You can cross the street with an iPod. It's just a matter of looking at what you're doing - being aware."

 | | "It's too far of an invasion of our civil liberties. What's next? Are they going to be telling us it's dangerous to hear it in our homes? Also, the second part of my answer is they should have more important things to worry about - like the school system, terrorism and other serious crimes."
