There was no Toto look alike, no Tinman or Scarecrow, but in Marine Park last Sunday, the refrain "Lions and people and dogs, oh, my!" seemed appropriate as the Brooklyn Canarsie Lions raised money and awareness for blind children's services by hosting the third annual Doggie Olympics in Marine Park.

Expanding upon the success of the preceding events, the Canarsie Lions raised over $3,000 as 26 canines and their owners participated in over twenty events, including Best Dressed Dog, Doggie/Owner Dance Competition and the Small and Large Dogs Agility Courses.

By day's end, last year's returning champ - an athletic golden retriever named Shea, was edged out by first-time competitor "The Amazing Freckles" and his high-flying, tennis-ball-catching abilities.
