Letters To The Editor

This letter was sent to Catherine Rosa, Business Manager of the Canarsie Courier.

Dear Catherine,

As the new year approaches, I want to take the time to thank you for the support you have given to the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program in letting your readers know about our free services. You have been a great help in getting out the word in your community.

With appreciation.

Editor:

Thank you for including photos of my Christmas display in your paper ( “Breukelen Houses All Decked Out For Christmas,” Dec. 21 issue). The importance of this is change; change for the better. It’s not who is better or who wins what, but mainly if it does have to do with winning, it is winning the hearts of children, and family, and neighbors to once again bond and create the village that was a long long time ago when everyone looked out for one another.

This is the reason I started the holiday decorating seven years ago. Too much has gone on and is still going on in the neighborhood, which is taking over our children. It needs to stop and we need to grow as a family. What got me most of all was the amazing increase of decorations in the Breukelen Houses. I think everyone did a beautiful job and I hope it will continue to grow all year around the neighborhood.

Again, thank you, Happy Holidays and God Bless.

Sincerely

Cynthia Jimenez

Setting The

Record Straight

Dear Editor:

My students and I would like to thank your reporter, Dara Mormile, for her great job writing about our holiday mural.

I would like to take this opportunity to address the portion of the article that states, “the classroom was a mess.” This is a misquote. Also, the students met with me two to three times a week and we worked on that mural about two weeks.

My students are very proud and would like to thank the Canarsie Courier for including us in their holiday special.

Sincerely,

Corinne Liverpool, Roy H. Mann

Editor’s note: We stand by

Ms. Mormile’s story as written.
