BP Spreads Christmas Cheer

Last Saturday, Borough President Marty Markowitz helped make the season bright for 3,000 Brooklyn children when he hosted a holiday extravaganza — Merry, Merry, Mayhem” — at the Christian Cultural Center, east of Canarsie. The children, all of whom live in NYCHA housing shelters, were treated to a Dr. Seuss-themed holiday celebration. All 3,000 kids also left the event with brand new Christmas gifts (see above) of their choosing. “It’s a privilege to be able to help make this holiday a special one for Brooklyn’s young people,” Markowitz said. “Children from lower-income households deserve the thrill of brand new Christmas presents, and thanks to all of our wonderful partners and generous contributors, more Brooklyn kids will have new toys and books and a big smile on Christmas Day.”
