Two Wounded In Drive-By Shooting

Paramedics from the city’s Emergency Medical Service help board one of two men wounded in a drive-by shooting Sunday at Stanley and Pennsylvania avenues. The incident happened shortly before midnight, police from the 75th Precinct say. One of the wounded men was determined to be in critical condition and the other stable. Two men were wounded in a drive-by shooting late Sunday as they stood on Pennsylvania Avenue near Stanley Avenue, police sources said.

According to reports, a red, late-model Jaguar drove by and one of two men in the car started shooting as the victims, one 28-years old and the other 22, whose names were not released, tried to dive for cover, but they were hit anyway. Witnesses said the Jaguar then sped north on Penn-sylvania Avenue.

Witnesses said the two victims fell to the ground in front of a bodega at the corner. The witnesses called 911 and police from the 75th Pre-cinct arrived within minutes, along with fire trucks and Emergency Me-dical Service paramedics. Both victims were taken to Brookdale Hos-pital. Sources said the younger man was pronounced in stable condition, but the 28-year-old’s condition is considered critical.

A witness told the Canarsie Cou-rier exclusively that he saw parame-dics and firemen “working frantically” on one of the victims.
