Bikers' Annual Visit Spreads Holiday Cheer For Seniors

Clockwise from top right: Bikers lined up their hogs outside Four Seasons; bikers, their families and friends with a few residents; biker girls with senior Bernard Snyder; reindeer rested as Santa rode his bike and Frieda Merano grins and probably wishes she could ride that hog alongside of her. No sooner do members of various motorcycle clubs pull up, dismount their bikes and enter the Four Seasons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Rockaway Parkway than the faces of its senior residents light up with joy.

This year's visit, which is part of the groups' eighteenth annual charity run, included members of several clubs, including American Bikers, Unknown Bikers, Uncage Americans, Pony Express, Brooklyn Hogs and No Fear.

Dan Rausher, vice president of the American Bikers Club, remarked, "We come and entertain the seniors and try to spread some holiday cheer because some of these elderly, who are here year round, no longer have friends or families and we just want to brighten their day and their holiday."
