Brooklyn 9/11 Memorial Mural Photos Are Featured In Exhibit
After a successful exhibition at 7 World Trade Center, the collection, entitled "9/11: A Nation Remembers," is now on display through January, 2007 at the National Constitution Cen-ter in Philadelphia. Among the hundred plus photographs are a number of commemorative murals from Brooklyn, including "Boys Passing By," "Eagles," and "Mount Rushmore in Brooklyn," painted by mural artist Joe Indart of the community group, Youth D.A.R.E.S. through an anti-graffiti program, "Ope-ration Clean Slate," that Weinstein initiated and funds. The murals not only capture the spirit of America and the patriotism that flourished after 9/11, but, more importantly, they honor those who lost their lives that day and continue to serve as a reminder of the freedoms this great nation provides.
Weinstein said she is proud her community is represented in the exhi-bit and will continue to support and sponsor local programs and initiatives that honor the names and preserve the memories of those who lost their lives on 9/11. The National Constitution Center is located at 525 Arch Street, Inde-pendence Mall in Philadelphia. For more information you can call them at 1-215-409-6600 or online at www.con- sti-tutioncenter.org. If you can't make it to the exhibit, you can visit the murals at the intersections of Nostrand Avenue and Kings Highway, Nostrand Avenue and Avenue M, and Bragg Street between the Avenues of U and V.
