Security Guard Stabbed Trying To Collar Three Shoplifters At CVS

A 20-year-old security guard on duty at the CVS Pharmacy at 2120 Rockaway Parkway was stabbed in the stomach last week when he tried to stop three men who were trying to leave the store with stolen goods.

Police from the 69th Precinct said the guard, whose name was not released, was watching the trio as they went through the aisles of the store picking up various items as they walked. When they got near the exit, the guard tried to stop them when one of the men turned around with a knife in his hand and stabbed the guard in the stomach. All three thieves ran away.

Continued on page 20 Police were called and the guard was taken to Brookdale Hospital by Emergency Medical Service paramedics. He was treated at the hospital and pronounced in stable condition.
