I.S. 285's Successful Food Drive To Help The Needy During Holiday

It was more than a civics lesson students from I.S. 285 got recently when they took part in a food drive. Virtually hundreds of kids took part by bringing a can (or more) of non-perishable food to donate to the food drive, subsequently to be given to City Harvest. Above, Principal Edward Gentile kneels before just a few youngsters who participated in the event. The project was coordinated by teachers and administrators, including Amy Miller, Rodrick Daley, Carolyn Barbuzza and Christopher Azzopardi, with Classes 701, 720, 721, 808 and 801 participating.

Gentile said the students intend to hold a few fundraisers in the near future to help them fund a trip to Europe in the spring.
