What's Your Opinion?
Compiled by Bill O'Neill

Question: Mayor Bloomberg recently announced he will be more "hard-nosed" about reducing the number of people allowed to renew their permits to carry concealed weapons within city limits than his predecessors. Do you agree or disagree with his proposal?

"Personally, I feel that no one should carry a concealed weapon except if you're in law enforcement. Iwas trained in the army with weapons, so I know how to handle a weapon. I just don't think any regular citizen should have a concealed weapon. I definitely agree with his proposal." David Baez, Canarsie
"I guess I disagree. I think if you carry a weapon for a justifiable reason, you should be allowed to. If you run a business, sometimes you might need a weapon. New York City is a very dangerous place, and I think Mayor Bloomberg is wrong. You can't always depend on the police." Paul Parrinello, Canarsie
"I agree with increasing safety and reducing weapons, especially in cases where children are involved. Just as long as the specific details of the proposal don't infringe on civil liberties." Kat Radin, Manhattan
"I'm neutral. It's good because people should be allowed to bear arms. But it's bad because a lot of people aren't responsible to keep guns in their homes." George Brown, Canarsie
