Detectives Do It Again; Arrest Suspect In Quadruple Shooting Detectives from the 69th precinct last week continued their arrest streak by nabbing a Canarsie man and charging him with shooting four local residents in a Chinese restaurant on Glenwood Road two weeks ago. Jamar Morris of East 102nd Street was picked up at his home near Avenue J two days after he allegedly shot multiple times through the window of the Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant at about 6 p.m. on October 23 while a line of customers waited inside the store for their take-out food. One witness to the shooting said nearby pedestrians and customers fell to the ground as the shooter fired, seemingly at random, numerous times, with bullets ricocheting from the walls and thick Plexiglass windows that separate patrons from the workers in case of a robbery - or in case of a random shooting in the store. One man was struck in the torso a number of times and a woman sustained a gunshot wound to her leg. Two other patrons were hurt, although police did not specify their wounds. They were all taken to local hospitals. Three of the victims were treated and released, but another man remains hospitalized, having been admitted in critical condition. Morris was charged with four counts of assault and one count of criminal possession of a weapon. As to the reason for the shooting, police speculated that Morris had had an ongoing dispute with three of the victims, although that could not be corroborated.
