Unofficial Yankee mascot Scattman the dancer - Les Cohen of Howard Beach in Queens - helped New York Yankees fans cheer on the home team at Tuesday afternoon's exciting home opener. It was Scattman's 13th consecutive home opener and the Yankees ninth straight win on opening day in The Bronx, as they overcame a three-run deficit to defeat the Kansas City Royals 9-7. According to a few Stadium employees, Scattman is a favorite of team owner George Steinbrenner and has been interviewed on several local news shows and "The Late Show with David Letterman." Scattman said he became a Yankees fan since he began going to games at age six with his father.
