Six Cars Involved In East 80th Street Crash
One driver sustained two broken legs but others and their passengers had relatively minor injuries after a a six-car crash last Thursday morning on East 80th Street between ave-nues J and K, according to 69th Pre-cinct police.
Witnesses told police a 2001 Toyota was heading south on East 80th Street when the driver swerved to avoid a double-parked school bus and collided with a northbound 1990 Nissan. A 2003 Toyota behind the first one swerved and collided with a 2000 GMC truck, which then struck a 1997 Chevy, which, in turn, plowed into a parked 1994 Toyota.
The driver of the 2001 Toyota was taken to Brookdale Hospital by Emergency Medical Service ambulance, while others injured in the crashes were attended to at the scene, police said. Three of the vehicles had to be towed away. None of the drivers was charged with violations, police sources told the Courier.
