Corrections Officer Arrested In Crack Sting On Flatlands Ave.

Charles Rogers Undercover police last Friday arrested an off-duty correction officer who works at Rikers Island and charged him with selling crack cocaine at the corner of Flatlands Avenue and East 104th Street.

Wesley Hamilton, 40, address unknown, was nabbed in a sting engineered by undercover cops at about 8 p.m. on August 18. Police sources said the suspect allegedly tried to sell an undetermined amount of crack cocaine at the busy intersection and was nabbed on the spot by undercover cops in a coordinated arrest.

Hamilton has been a corrections officer for approximately nine years, according to sources, who noted he has been suspended from duty pending a hearing.

Police charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance. Charles Rogers
