Organizers of the Canarsie Pier event pose around the popular logo. In commemoration of Independence Day, officials of Hawthorne Real Estate Services, REMAX and KMPS Mortgage Warehouse took advantage of the ambience of Canarsie Pier last Sunday and hosted their own festival.

The special event, which included games for the kids, plenty of food, contests and live entertainment, also afforded an opportunity for people to meet with real estate professionals and take that first step to home ownership.

Robert Palmer, operations manager with Hawthorne Real Estate Services, said, "We're celebrating our nation's independence and at the same time the American dream of owning a home."

He said they're giving individuals the chance to take advantage of their down payment assistance program, free property appraisals and exciting employment opportunities. Interested individuals can call (718) 643-8452 for further information.
