Rally For A Rebate

Brooklyn City Councilman Lew Fidler (second from right) joined hundreds of New York's senior citizens, Queens Council Member Leroy Comrie (second from left) and Comptroller William Thompson (right) at a City Hall rally last week to announce the filing of a Budget Initiative that would provide $600 property tax rebates to most seniors who own homes.

"Seniors have increasingly become house rich and cash poor," said Fidler. "We would love to provide property tax relief to all New Yorkers, but in this program we will at least be reaching the ones that have been hit the hardest in terms of cash flow."
