Scores of Canarsiens marched in this year's traditional Memorial Day parade on Monday, including members of American Legion Post 573, Honorable Judge Frank Seddio, Assemblyman Alan Maisel, Rabbi Avrohom Hecht and others. However, despite the picture perfect weather, the number of onlookers lining the route that began and ended at the Post's East 92 Street headquarters was once again sparse and disappointing. Nevertheless, those who took a few hours to participate were solemn and sincere in honoring the community's and nation's war dead at a wreath laying ceremony at Canarsie Veterans Circle followed by a memorial service at Canarsie Cemetery.
