TEEN WOUNDED IN DRIVE-BY SHOOTING

By Charles Rogers

While walking home after visiting friends last Sunday night, an 18-year-old resident of Breukelen Houses was shot in the right leg by a man wielding a gun from the back of one of two cars that raced past him, police said.

The victim, whose name was not released, told police from the 69th Precinct that he was walking north on East 105th Street and, when he arrived at the corner of Farragut Road, he saw two cars come racing past him. A few shots — he didn’t say how many — came from the back seat area of one of the cars.

He said he felt a sharp pain in his right leg and fell to the ground as the two cars sped away in an unknown direction.

Residents in nearby apartments saw the young man fall and called police.

Emergency Medical Service paramedics tended to the youth and brought him to Brookdale Hospital for treatment.

Cops canvassed the area with negative results.

Local detectives ask anyone with information to please call them at (718) 257-6215 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. You don’t necessarily have to leave your name and. they stress, all calls will be kept strictly confidential.
