Patriotic Poems
Our Nation; Born On The Fourth Of July
By Jim Haver

A page From Our Revolutionary History,

Revere Said, “One If By Land,

Two If By Sea,”

The Red Coats Were Coming,

Coming Fast,

With The Belief The Colonists,

Would Never Last.

The Focal Point Of The

Quest For Liberty,

To Tell George The Third,

No Taxing Fee,

Buy Troops With Hunger Pains,

Uniforms Thread Bare

Needed More Than

Tender Loving Care”

Just When Our Colonists

Seemed Overwhelmed,

Washington Majestically

Assumed The Helm,

For The British,

If Was A Reversing Trend,

Now They Were Run,

“When Would War End?”

With Valor And Courage

Coming From All Around,

Our Leader Accepted Their

Surrender at Yorktown.

This Feat Of War Closure

Became A Sensation,

The World Was Ready To

Welcome Our New Nation.

And As The Lyrics

Of The War Song Go,

Words That Inspired Our Troops

To Out Last The Redcoats,

“Yankee Doodle Went To Town

Riding On A Pony,

Stuck A Feather In His Cap,

Called It Macaroni.”

United We Stand

By Debbie Cohen

United we stand

United we fall

Division surrounds us

One and for all.

Love can battle

The enemy at hand

Hate can only

Break down our land.

Prayer and comfort

In this hour, we need

God, unite us together

All colors and creed.

America is standing

Strong and tall

Pray for our Country

One and for all.
