Religious News Our Confirmation celebrated by Bishop Joseph Sullivan will be on Saturday, May 28th at the 5:00 PM Mass. Sponsors and candidates must arrive at 4:15 PM in the school auditorium. Mr. Egonu was born in Nigeria and has worked as DRE in the ArchDiocese of Boston for the last 5 years. We say goodbye to Ms. Matthew and Mrs. Barna with a reception following the 11:15 Mass. For the sacred heart of Jesus, on Wednesday and Thursday, (June 1 & 2) we will begin the TRIDUUM of devotions, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction (7:30 to 8:30 PM)...requirement for enrollment in the Sacred Heart Apostolates. On Friday, June 3rd, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we will celebrate a Formal Enrollment Ceremony for the Parish, and also families, homes and individuals of the Parish in Church at 7:30 PM followed by a social in the Cafeteria. Also, anyone who cares to donate any food, the pantry is always in need of dry milk, cold cereal, peanut butter & jelly, mayonnaise, cooking oil, tuna fish, corned beef hash, paper goods and whatever else. Our pantry is always in need of food. At this time we are also in need of canned items such as sweet potatoes, white potatoes, applesauce and sliced peaches. The R.C.I.A. is a process for adults who are unbaptized and want to learn more about the Roman Catholic faith with the possibility of becoming a member. It is also for baptized Christians from other denominations who are considering joining the Catholic Church. Those baptized Catholics who need to receive their First Eucharist and Confirmation are also part of R.C.I.A. If you know anyone who is interested, please ask them to call Sister Joan at the Rectory. Classes are also held for high school aged students who have not received their sacraments yet. Anyone interested is asked to contact Sister Joan. A special “Thank You” to everyone who helped to make the “Raffle Riot Night” on May 6th such a huge success! The Rosary Society has a “Baby Wishing Well” set up in the Gathering Room in the Church. Rosarians and all parishioners are asked to help by placing new baby gifts into the basket. All the gifts donated will be sent to the New York Life Center to distribute to families in need. The wishing well will remain in the Church through Sunday, May 29th. Mark your calendars and set aside these dates for our 4th Annual Mary Queen of Heaven Parish Festival!!! The annual Sacred Heart Novena at the Visitation Monastery Sacred Heart Chapel will begin on May 26th and conclude on June 3rd with the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Monastery is located at 8902 Ridge Boulevard in Bay Ridge. Booster Club tickets are available at the doors of the Church after all the Masses. The next drawing will take place on Wednesday, June 8th. Shrine Church Of St. Jude The 12:30 PM Mass is our Bi-Lingual Mass. The first reading, the psalm and some of the hymns will be in the language of the day. May 22nd and 29th are in English. October 2004 - 2005 has been declared “Year of the Eucharist” to help us fully and actively participate and appreciate the Mass more. If you are not receiving Holy Communion, please call Msgr.
