Poignant Moments At Young Israel Holocaust Ceremony

Rabbi Rakowitz speaks to congregants at Young Israel of Canarsie Synagogue.
Students of Yeshiva R’tzahad and the Yeshiva Ateres Israel Choir sang heartfelt songs for those who attended last week’s Community Holocaust Memorial Service at Young Israel of Canarsie. Victims and relatives of victims lit candles in poignant commemoration and, along with them, scores of congregants mourned the six million killed.

Featured speakers included Natalie Goldberg of the Museum of Jewish Heritage and State Assemblyman Frank Seddio. Rabbi Myron Rakowitz of the Sephardic Jewish Center of Canarsie helped coordinate the event.
