E. 103 Street Landlord Death May Be Suicide, Say Police Police from the 69th Precinct reported a man killed himself in his home on East 103 Street last Sunday night. Captain Dan Carrione, executive officer, said the body of the 57-year-old landlord of the private house was discovered after his tenant thought she heard a shot, tried to contact him, and finally called police. “Responding officers met the tenant and reported looking through a ground floor window and seeing a man lying on a couch,” Carrione said. “They got into the house by prying open the front window.” He said they saw a .38 caliber revolver on the floor in front of the couch. The man had sustained a gunshot wound to his temple, Carrione said. There was no sign of forced entry to the apartment. Crime scene detectives were called, and officials from the city medical examiner’s office announced the man had died of a self-inflicted wound. The man’s name was not released pending notification of next of kin. There was no note indicating a possible reason for the suicide, according to police. Charles Rogers
