Police Arrest Suspect In December Robbery

Police from the 69th Precinct closed the case on a December gunpoint robbery this week with the arrest of the gunman, according to published reports.

Sources said Kevin Gayle, 22, a Canarsie resident, allegedly wielded a firearm when he confronted a 45-year-old man as he was entering a bank near Rockaway Parkway just before Christmas and took the victim’s wallet containing $2,400 in cash, a number of credit cards and some jewelry, which included the man’s wedding ring.

Detectives assisted the victim in subsequent sessions at the Foster Avenue station house where he viewed photos of possible suspects and, in a lineup, picked out Gayle, according to the report.
