Thieves Grab A Bunch Of Cell Phones In Glenwood Rd. Burglary Police suspect there may be a pattern leading up to the burglary early last Monday of a cell phone store here. According to a report from the 69th Precinct, J & J Cellular, 9611 Glenwood Road, was burglarized around 3 a.m. on February 21, apparently by three men who cased the store beforehand. Witnesses told police they saw the trio pull back the lattice-type gate from the front door and open the lock. While one man waited outside, the other pair jumped through the gate and into the store, where they went behind the counter. The first man, who was wearing a light green jacket, emerged a short time later “with his arms full of cell phones,” according to Lieutenant Dennis McCreight, who heads the local detective unit. “He handed the phones to one of the other guys and then went back in the store,” McCreight said. After the second trip, the trio fled, although witnesses said they didn’t know whether it was by car or on foot. One of the other burglars was described as wearing a dark green jacket. No other description was given. McCreight said investigations are continuing to discern whether the burglary matches recent robberies of other cell phone establishments. Anyone with information is asked to call the local detective squad at (718) 257-6215 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept strictly confidential. Charles Rogers
