Former Canarsien’s First Novel Published

A Canarsie native, who moved from the community with his family nearly forty years ago, recently published his first novel.

Now a Florida resident, Richard Ian Kaynan’s debut novel, “The Giver’s Consequence,” was published by a Maryland-based company in January.

What if you all of a sudden discovered you had the ability to help, or even cure, people with your slightest touch?

After a fatal car crash, Ted Thomas, of Oviedo, floirda, is given a second chance at life as a “Giver,” one who heals. Lacking the slightest training with his new skill, he stumbles and innocently causes a series of repercussions that follow him around along with heartwarming cures as he impatiently attempts to keep his gift a secret from all but his closest acquaintances.

Kaynan was born and raised in Canarsie from 1956-1967. He has resided in Oviedo for the past 7 years. He has been employed by one of the world’s largest Electronics Distributors for over twenty-five years but when not working or writing, he can be found composing, recording, and performing original and Classic Rock music or surfing the waves in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

“The Giver’s Consequence” is now available on line and at major books stores.

Kaynan’s second novel, “The Can-nons At Goldsboro Bridge,” is completed and will be submitted for publication in the near future. The author can be contacted by email: rkaynan1@bellsouth.net.
