Q: I was bored to tears by the halftime show during the recent Super Bowl. I mean, Paul McCartney? Couldn’t they come up with anyone hipper than that? He even sang songs he’d made famous years and years ago! Bob L.

A: After last year’s infamous “wardrobe” malfunction with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake, the powers-that-be at the NFL and the network weren’t taking any chances. Paul was a safe bet, and most people I talked to, enjoyed his performance. Not being of that generation, though (I’m assuming), you probably couldn’t appreciate it.

Q: Is it true that Richard Dean Anderson will be leaving “Stargate SG-1”? What will happen? I think he’s the heart of the show, although I have to admit, I don’t watch it on a regular basis. Linda G.

A: He’s not leaving entirely, but he certainly won’t be an integral part of it anymore. Instead, Ben Browder of “Farscape” will be stepping in to fill the gap, and Claudia Black, also from “Farscape,” will join the cast.

Q: I used to watch “Life Goes On” when it was on the air religiously, and I was wondering something. Whatever happened to Chris Burke, the Down Syndrome actor who played a boy with Down Syndrome? I thought he was wonderful! Lizzie J.

A: Most recently, Chris appeared in the movie, “Mona Lisa Smile,” as a custodian. He spends most of his time, though, traveling around the country with two friends, singing and promoting Down Syndrome awareness. He is also very active with the National Down Syndrome Society. In between all that, he will take the occasional acting gig.
