69th Precinct Honors The Best Of The Best
Heroism, bravery and dedication were awarded last Saturday, October 1, at the 69th Precinct’s fourth annual Medal and Family Appreciation Day, which was held at the Midget Squadron Yacht Club on Paerdegat Avenue North.
Executive Officer Captain Paul Saryian sang the National Anthem and a rendition of the song “You Raise Me Up,” filling the room with inspiration.
Awards were given to BAT and SNEU Unit of the year, Rookie of the Year, Civilians of the Year and for perfect attendance – Lt. Michael Looney received an award for 23 years of perfect attendance.
Brooklyn Assistant Chief Joseph Fox commended all the officers of the 69th Precinct for their outstanding efforts.
“I compare my job to that of being a baseball fan who’s actually able to go into the dugout and give the team direction,” said Fox. “It feels good to know your team is out there giving it their best. But these guys risk their lives every day and I’m proud of everything they do to keep our communities safe.”
