Question: Officials from the Transportation Security Administration recently recommended relaxing airline security restrictions to allow small sharp instruments, including scissors, razors and jacknives, on airplanes. Do you think this is a good idea?
|“It’s not really a good idea, because you get a little loose, it might get out of hand. People might take advantage of it. Something very small can become very big.” Damarr Busby, Canarsie“It’s a horrible idea! I think the suggestion is ridiculous, especially after 9/11. It’s a ridiculous idea in its entirety. They should tighten security and keep it tight. Whatever it takes to protect citizens, do it — as long as it doesn’t interfere with our constitutional rights.” Iasia Wilkins, Canarsie“I thought it was silly to outlaw small objects on the plane to begin with. How much can you do with those things? Plus, when it goes through the machine, you see it.” Marysol Roman, The Bronx“It’s not right to put it back into effect. Any little thing could hurt you. It’s better to have good security and be careful.”
