SUSPECT NABBED IN PAIR OF SHOOTINGS
Detectives from the 69th Precinct Tuesday arrested a suspect in the shoot-ing of two men who were attending a party on Remsen Avenue, according to official reports. Patrol officers responded to Brookdale Hospital at about 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 31 when emergency room doctors advised them they had admitted two men with gunshot wounds. Both victims’ names were not released, but police said one was from Stone Avenue and the other from Bel-mont Avenue, both East New York. Both are 20 years old. They told police they had been attending a party on the southern end of Remsen Avenue near Seaview Avenue when they thought they heard a noise outside and when they went to investigate, an unknown man shot them and then fled. The Stone Avenue resident was struck twice in the chest and once in the abdomen and the Belmont Avenue victim was grazed in the left shoulder, police said. Neither man knew who or why they were shot. A friend drove them to the hospital immediately after the shooting. The victim who was grazed was treated and released and the other man was held at the hospital and pronounced in stable condition. No information was given on the one suspect arrested, except that it was a man and that the arrest took place on August 2. Anyone with further information is asked to call the 69th Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 257-6215. All calls will be kept confidential.
