Mind your manners
We’ve all been there. You’re at a supermarket or a mall, and there’s a table set up where people are asking for a donation for some sort of charity, school event, or sports team. Often, there are people who will walk over to you and solicit you. If you don’t want to make a donation, or you simply can’t, there is a polite, gracious way to handle this. Say a kind word to the volunteer such as, “Thank you for your efforts on behalf of this worthy cause. I’m sorry I’m unable to contribute at this time.” Your kindness and compassion will be appreciated. (c) 2005 DBR Media, Inc.
