According to a report filed at the Foster Avenue station house, the 17-year-old male victim, whose name was not released, told patrol officers he was walking north at about 12:30 a.m. on March 12 when he was accosted by an unknown individual who pulled out a knife from his jacket and stabbed the victim once in the stomach. The stabber then fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was able to walk to his nearby home and call 911. Patrol officers and paramedics from the City Emergency Medical Service arrived moments later. While the paramedics attended to the victim, the officers, along with detectives and members of the precinct’s Anti Crime Unit canvassed the neighborhood for a possible suspect or a weapon but their search proved negative.

The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital by ambulance. Police did not confirm whether or not his wound was life threatening.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to call the 69th Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 257-6215 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept strictly confidential.
