Sampson’s Info Fair Draws A Crowd

Photos by Charles Rogers State Senator John Sampson last month joined with local social service agencies in hosting the 4th Annual Children’s Information Fair at the Brownsville Recreation Center on Linden Boulevard. The fair featured entertainment, food, prizes and games, as well as booth after booth where the youngsters could ask questions of any number of guests.

For instance, there was quite a line in front of the NYPD Recruitment booth, although the kids were a little young. The same treatment went for the U.S. Navy Recruitment Station: kids were interested, but they were too young to take advantage.

Of course, the youths turned their attention to playing games and receiving prizes, which consisted of books, tee shirts and small toys.

Attendance at the fair, which was held during the public school winter break, was high, according to one organizer.
