Canarsien Dies After Remsen Crash

A 62-year-old Canarsien was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital after his car was struck by another on Remsen Avenue and Glenwood Road at 6:10 p.m. Monday, January 10, po-lice said.

A report filed at the 69th Precinct notes that Jose Deida of Glenwood Road was driving his 1990 Subaru south on Remsen Avenue and, as he made a left turn onto Glenwood Road was struck by a 2000 Mercedes that was heading north on Remsen. Police said Deida apparently died of injuries suffered in the crash.

His son, Shasundy Deida, 28, was riding with him and was injured, sources said.

There were no charges filed against the 27-year-old driver of the Mercedes, whose name was not released. Charles Rogers
