Holy Family Church

Thanks to Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio for his excellent Homily on family life and for being with us to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family.

Our Lady Of Miracles

718-257-2400 We’re located on East 86 Street (Between Glenwood Rd. & Flatlands Ave.) Our schedule of masses is: Saturday at 5:30 PM, Sunday at 8:30 AM (English), 9:45 AM (Eng/Italian), 11:00 AM (English), 12:30 (French & Creole). Weekday mass schedule: Monday - Saturday....8:30 AM only.

On Mondays our church is open for you to visit at anytime until 8:00 PM. You will be able to pray before the Blessed Sacrament. Please come and spend some time with the Lord.

Friday, January 7, 2005 is the first Friday of the month, and we will be having our Holy Hour from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and the Novena Prayers to the Sacred Heart. Please try and be with us.

Anyone interested in having an Annual votive Candle lit for a loved one, please call the rectory at 718-257-2400.

On Sunday, January 16, 2005 we will be having our clothing drive. A truck will be outside our church on East 86th St. from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Now is the time to make room in your house and get rid of any good, clean clothing you are not using.

Anyone who would like to reserve a mass intention is welcome to come to the rectory office (Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).

On Wednesday, January 12, 2005 we will be having a healing Mass at 7:15 PM at Our Lady of Miracles Church (East 86th Street, between Flatlands Ave. & Glenwood Rd.) Fr. Jeff Dillion is the Celebrant. Rosary recited before the Mass.

Our Food Pantry, sponsored by the Canarsie Cluster, (Our Lady of Miracles, St. Jude & Holy Family) is available for those in need. It is open on Fridays & Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM both days.

If your family is in need of food, please stop by the rear basement doors of Our Lady Miracles Rectory on the days listed. Also, anyone who cares to donate any food, the pantry is always in need of dry milk, cold cereal, peanut butter & jelly, mayonnaise, cooking oil, tuna fish, corned beef hash, paper goods and whatever else. Our pantry is always in need of food. At this time we are also in need of canned items such as sweet potatoes, white potatoes, applesauce and sliced peaches. The Canarsie Cluster Food Pantry appreciates all the help you give us.

The Canarsie Community Yeshiva, located at 1387 East 96th Street, extends a gracious welcome to the entire Jewish community.

We are announcing that our registration is ongoing for our community and that Yeshiva. Classes are held Sunday thru Wednesday evenings at the Yeshiva.

Classes are open to men and women of all ages. Young and old alike are afforded an opportunity to enroll in a Yeshiva program.

Vice Presidents Irving Steinfeld and Barbara Rubin, the Officer and congregants of YIC invite the community to join with us for services throughout the year.

Candle lighting for Friday evening parshas Vaera is 4:26 PM. Services begin with Mincha at 4:35 PM. Shabbos morning services begin at 9:00. Prayers for the new month of Shevat will be said. Rosh Chodesh is Tuesday, Jan. 11.

This week’s kiddush is hosted by the Chevra Mishnayos in honor of Shabbos Mvorchim and the congregation is cordially invited to participate.

Shabbos afternoon Mincha services will be at 4:20 followed by Seudah Shelishis sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Leib Rubin in observance of the yahrzeit of Mr. Rubin’s mother. Shabbos ends with Maariv and Havdala at 5:33PM.

Services this coming week each evening at 4:30 PM. Monday and Thursday mornings at 6:20, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:30 and Sunday at 8:00 AM. We ask all to make every effort to attend services as often as possible during the winter months since many congregants take winter vacations at this time.
