Kathryn Kirk Borough President Marty Marko-witz marched through Prospect Park last Sunday with Deputy Borough President Yvonne Graham, City Coun-cil Member Yvette Clarke, and more than 8,500 Brooklynites to support of the fight against breast cancer.

“As we all know, Brooklyn has the strongest women in the world, but the fight against breast cancer is too tough to fight alone,” said Markowitz.

The four-mile march around Pros-pect Park was a part of the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” campaign which last year helped to raise over $28 million for research, education, and patient support and advocacy programs to defeat the disease. According to the American Cancer Society, in 2004 more than 215,990 cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed among women in the United States.
