I Love New York Fall 2004 Getaways online

Charles A. Gargano, chairman of Empire State Development, which administers the I LOVE NEW YORK campaign, announced that I Love New York Fall 2004 Getaways, autumn vacation packages spotlighting the Empire State’s cultural attractions, are now available online at www.iloveny.com.

“Our autumn vacation packages will take you to cultural centers all across New York,” Gargano said. “Among many other opportunities, you will en-joy fine antiques in the Hudson Valley, wine tasting in the Finger Lakes or even an art class with a celebrated painter in the Thousand Islands - not to mention the wondrous backdrop of New York’s spectacular fall foliage.”

Each vacation package offers a different taste of New York’s local culture.

Couples will want to take advantage of the romantic “Restoration and Rejuvenation” weekend on the St. Lawrence River that comes complete with spa treatment, a boat cruise and two nights at a local bed and breakfast.

Art lovers won’t want to miss “Rochester: A Cultural Tour” where they will enjoy admissions to the Me-morial Art Gallery, as well as to Artisan Works, an art gallery that displays and sells the works of local artists and craftsmen. Also included are two nights’ deluxe accommodations at the Hampton Inn and dinner for two at the Memorial Art Gallery.

History buffs will want to experience “Heritage Days” in the Central-Leatherstocking Region. This package includes one night at a local bed and breakfast, passes to the History Fair and quilt exhibit at the Old Stone Fort as well as a tour of the 1743 Palatine House to learn about early settlers. And, for the kid in all of us, admission to barbers Corn Maze is also included.

Travelers can also create their own mini-vacation by using the reservation system online at www.iloveny.com and choosing between various cultural sites in New York State.
