Brooklyn Post Office Hits A Home Run With Cyclones
Kevin Mahoney, coordinator with the Cyclones, is flanked by Brooklyn Postmaster Joseph Lubrano, left, and Letter Carrier Angelo Marino at ceremony awarding Marino for his idea to help the flow of tickets for future games.
When the Cyclones brought baseball back to Brooklyn after 40 long years, they also brought business in advertising and ticket sales. With that in mind, Coney Island Station Letter Carrier Angelo Marino saw a chance to bring the benefits of U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail to the new baseball club.
Marino knew the best way for the Cyclones to send out tickets was with Priority Mail through the Brooklyn Post Office. It is fast, more secure and less expensive than our competitors service, a bargain all round.
So, Marino contacted Postmaster Joseph Lubrano with the sales lead and the two worked together with Kevin Mahoney of the Cyclones organization to make the sale happen.
This week the Cyclones made their bid for the playoffs and 4,000 packages for tickets were mailed to fans via USPS Priority Mail.
Mahoney said “This is the best service we’ve ever had.”
Angelo Marino, added, “Whatever the Cyclones need, I’m here for them.”
“This is a team effort by the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Postal Service,” Lubrano said, “and it hit a home run!”
