Town Meeting: Meeting for the whole parish on September 21st at 7:30 PM in Holy Family School Auditorium. We want to share plans, hopes and dreams for the upcoming anniversary year. These plans include spiritual, cultural and social activities.
Our theme is “Holy Family, united as one family.” The earlier we get involved, the more inclusive our celebration can be. Please set this date aside so that you can be with us.
Mass of the Anointing Of The Sick: We will be celebrating this Mass on Saturday, September 25th at 10:30 AM in church, followed by a reception in the churchyard.

Re-registration: If you have not yet re-registered your child for classes, which will resume in September, please do so as soon as possible. Materials and books must be ordered to have all ready for the opening meeting. If registrations are not received very soon, the child will not be able to begin classes on time.
Our Religious Education Ministry will begin a new class for adults who wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Sessions will begin in September and are open to anyone sixteen years of age or older who have been baptized and received the Sacraments of First Communion and First Penance. Prior registration is necessary. Classes will be held on Wednesday Night 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Please call our Rel. Education Office 718-257-8016 during office hours. You need your Baptism and First Holy Communion Certificates.
In addition to his serving God as a priest and serving his country as an active member of the U.S Army Reserve, Fr. Kane valued his membership in the Informed Voices of Canarsie by being present at practically all the meetings. He championed the unity of the Canarsie Community. Fr.. Kane has been informed that effective Sept, 7 he will begin his mobilization process.

The Diocese is planning another Marian Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. It is scheduled for Saturday October 23, 2004. We will be reserving a bus to take pilgrims from Our Lady of Miracles Parish. Bus will be leaving at 6:00 AM and returning around 11:00 PM on the same day. Our Food Pantry, sponsored by the Canarsie Cluster, (Our Lady of Miracles, St. Jude & Holy Family) is available for those in need. It is open on Fridays & Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM both days.
If you, or your family, is in need of food, please stop by the rear basement doors of Our Lady Miracles Rectory on the days listed. Registration is being held for any girl in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade who wants to join the Girl Scouts. Registration will be held in the Parish Center on Sunday, September 12th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The Religious Education of a child should be the responsibility of the Parish. We want to make sure we are meeting the needs of our parishioners before all others.
In order to meet these needs we ask that when you come to register your children for the Religious Education classes you bring your parish registration number. If you have not registered your family in the parish, please stop by the Rectory and so. You will then receive your parish number.
The Religious Education Office is open for registration. The office is located in the Monsignor Burns Parish Center at 1304 East 57th Street.
If your child is already in our program and you have not re-registered, please do so as soon as possible.
Books must be ordered to have all ready for the opening session. You may bring your re-registration forms on Wednesdays from 9 am to 3 pm in the Parish Center, or you can mail them to the above address.
Have you ever thought about giving the greatest gift of your time and talents to share God’s love with our young ones? This is God’s call to you. We need a few more catechists for our classes beginning September 29, 2004.
When we share our faith with others, we deepen our own knowledge of God and faith.
Can you hear Jesus calling you as He says “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creative” (Mark 16:15)? If you think you can spare two hours a week to share God’s love with our children, call the MQH Religious Education Office at (718) 763-2590.
There is also a need for catechists to work with children with special needs. We know there are some certified special education teachers in our parish.
If any of you would be available to give approximately one half hour a week as a catechist, please call the Religious Ed Office.
The next Rosary Society Meeting will be held on Sunday, September 12th following the 12 o’clock Mass.
At the meeting we will be celebrating “Grandparents Day.” We ask that all those who will attend the meeting to send in pictures of your grandchildren and/or your grandparents for our special display board.
All pictures must be dropped off at the Rectory, in care of the Rosary Society by September 5th. These pictures will be returned, so please make sure you write your name on the back before you send them in.

Shabbos afternoon Mincha at 7:05 followed by seudah shelishis hosted by the Leicher family in observance of their mother’s yahrzeit. Shabbos ends with havadala at 8:12 PM.
