Question: Should the united states reactivate the draft in order to meet the needs of the military in iraq?

“The answer is no, because there would be a lot of inexperienced fighters over there. They are liable to freeze up and get killed. Fear paralyzes people. They don’t need new draftees. They need experienced, trained fighters over there, soldiers with two or three years’ experience. Kevin Powell, East New York“No, because it wouldn’t work out for a lot of people who are against the war and wouldn’t fight well. Plus, it hurts a lot of families who lose their loved ones and a lot of them don’t agree with the war to begin with.” Herbie Pierre, Canarsie“No, because it wouldn’t work out for a lot of people who are against the war and wouldn’t fight well. “No, because I’m sure they have enough volunteers without having to draft people against their will. It turns soldiers into unwilling soldiers; they have to fight unwillingly.” Alan Shrem, Canarsie“No, because I’m sure they have enough volunteers without having to draft people against their will. They should enact the draft for the simple reason that everybody after age 17 should be drafted. A Lot of youths get into trouble around that age and a draft would insure that they are performing a service, rather than a disservice to the country. It opens a lot of options for youth.” Adam Medina, Canarsie“Definitely. They should enact the draft for the simple reason that everybody after age 17 should be drafted.
