Informed Voices Civic Awards Night Tuesday
The Informed Voices Civic Association will hold its monthly neighborhood meeting on Tuesday, May 18 at 8 p.m. in the St. Jude School auditorium, 1696 Canarsie Road. This month they will host a special Awards Night Celebration, to which the whole neighborhood is invited. A free buffet will be served after the awards ceremony.
Bergen Beach Civic Installation May 20
The installation of the officers and board of directors of the Bergen Beach Civic Association will take place on Thursday, May 20 at 8 p.m. at the Hudson River Yacht Club, Bergen Avenue and Avenue U. Flo Hirsch will be sworn in for her 21st term as president.
C.G. Aux. Offers Boating Course

Two Weekly Chess Clubs

Free Skin Cancer Screenings
The Brooklyn V.A. Medical Center, 800 Poly Place, will be the site of free screenings for skin cancer on Saturday, May 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Clinic Pod A, Ambulatory Care Center.
Free Or Low-Cost Mammogram
Low income women who feel they cannot get a mammogram are urged to call the Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program at 800-877-8077 to learn about where they can get a free or low cost mammogram.
Cardiac Rehab Program
If you have had a heart attack within the last year, a coronary bypass or angina in the last six months and if you have an okay from your physician, you’re a candidate for the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Program at Maimonides Medical Center.
Landmark Lott House Cleanup
The Hendrick I. Asthma Walk 2004 Next Month

The blood bank at Maimonides Medical Center, like all blood banks in the region, is currently experiencing a severe blood shortage, especially of Type O-Positive and O-Negative blood.
