A 24-hour Mill Basin Walgreen’s drugstore was robbed at gunpoint by three thieves early last Monday, police said. No one was injured in the robbery, which occurred at about 3 a.m. on May 2 at the chain’s store located at 5716 Avenue U, according to reports.

Detectives at the 63 Precinct confirmed a report that witnesses told them the thieves all wore bandanas over their faces. They calmly walked into the store and one of them pulled a gun from his waistband, aimed it a security guard and forced him and the 49-year-old store’s manager into a back office.

Sources said the thieves forced the manager to open a safe and took an undetermined amount of cash from the safe, as well as emptying one of the cash registers before fleeing in an unknown direction.

One of the thieves was described as black, in his 20s, about five-feet, seven-inches tall, wearing a red bandana and a black baseball cap. No description of the other two men was given.

Anyone with information is asked to call the 63 Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 258-4401 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept strictly confidential.
