Bus Rider Gets No Respect

Bus Rider Gets No Respect

Dear Editor:

Growing up, I was taught to give up my seat on the bus to the elderly, the handicapped, pregnant moms and moms with a baby and stroller.

What happened to the upbringing of the new generation? Ugh!

Where are all the good Samaritans?

I’m a mom and I use the B-17 bus to take my two-year-old to school everyday. I get no kind of help getting on and off the bus with my stroller. When I finally struggle to get on, I rarely get a seat. It’s frustrating and it gets to the point when I begin

my day saying, "I hate people."

I can’t find myself asking for help because someone should know I need help. But they don’t. There is a lack of respect not only with young adults these days, but with many adult men and women.

Maybe, I should start wearing a sign saying, "Duh, mom needs help—and a seat." Maybe that will make people open their eyes!
