Annual Coat Drive Begins Dec. 1

The 15th Annual New York Cares Coat Drive, an annual lifeline for New York’s neediest citizens during the winter months, will collect used adult and children’s coats from December 1-31, throughout the five boroughs. The 69th Precinct at Foster Avenue and Rockaway Parkway is a designated collection site for this community.

New York Cares hopes to collect 70,000 desperately needed coats this year to distribute to struggling men, women and children at New York City homeless shelters, community organizations, churches, and agencies serving seniors - 280 agencies in all. More than a half a million coats have been collected since the Coat Drive’s inception in 1989. For information about the Coat Drive and/or drop-off sites, the public may call (212) 402-1173 or visit www.nycares.org.
