Some Area Street Cleaning Rules Temporarily Lifted

The New York City Department of Transportation this week announced the Street Cleaning Regulations (SCR) for the purpose of sweeping streets, including residential and metered areas, will be temporarily suspended in the Canarsie area (Community Board 18) beginning this Monday, August 4.

The regulations will be suspended to permit field crews to post new hour-and-a half sanitation rules in the area. The posting of new regulations is part of a cooperative Transportation Department/Sanitation Department program to change existing street cleaning rules, as well as to replace missing or damaged parking signage.

Street cleaning regulations, on both residential streets and metered areas, will be suspended until further notice within the following borders:

North: The Railroad from Ralph Avenue to Linden Blvd.

East: Van Sinderen Ave (not included) from Linden Blvd to Stanley Ave. Stanley Ave (not included) from East 108 Street to Louisiana Ave. Louisiana Ave (not included) from Stanley Ave to Flatlands Ave. Flatlands Ave. (included) from Louisiana Ave to E. 108 Street. East 108 St. (included) from Flatlands Avenue to Avenue K.

South: Ave. K (included) from East 108 St to East 80 St.

West: E 80 St (not included) from Ave K to Ralph Ave. Ralph Ave (not included) from E 80 St to the Railroad.

Please note that this temporary suspension does not affect 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM rules, which are not Street Cleaning Regulations.
