Traditional Stilt Dancing
Stilt dancing, as shown above, is an exciting and ancient African tradition. In honor of Black History Month, the African-American Stilt Ballet, a traveling troupe of stilt dancers, will perform in elaborate costumes with live drumming at the Brooklyn Public Central Library at Grand Army Plaza on Saturday, February 22 at 2 p.m. The library’s Black History Month programs are open and free to the public.
