18-Year-Old Stabbed To Death In Seaview Estates Apt.
By Charles Rogers
Police are looking for a killer who stabbed an 18-year-old man to death in a Seaview Estates apartment apparently sometime Tuesday.
According to detectives from the 69th Precinct, the body of Jermaine Alvarez, whose address was given as Cozine Avenue in East New York, was found at about 6:40 p.m. on December 17th in the apartment in the East 108 Street complex of condos and apartments near Flatlands 10th Street.
Detective Sean O’Rourke, who is handling the case, said the youth was found lying face up by his sister.
"He had been stabbed multiple times," O’Rourke said. Sources noted the room in which the victim was found was "blood-spattered" and that it appeared there had been a violent struggle. Neighbors told police they thought they heard a commotion coming from the apartment during the afternoon but did not see any suspects at the time. Apparently nothing had been taken from the deceased and the apartment had not been ransacked, possibly ruling out robbery as a motive, according to O’Rourke.
The detective said Emergency Medical Service paramedics told him the time of death was approximately six to ten hours before the body was discovered.
Anyone who might have seen anything unusual Tuesday or may have any information is asked to call the 69th Precinct Detective Squad at 257-6215. All calls will be kept strictly confidential.
