BP Makes Acting Debut

Borough President Marty Markowitz (right) brought his own personal flavor to his role as the character Herr Drosselmeyer during his stage debut in “A Brooklyn Nutcracker” last week. The popular holiday favorite has been transported to a Brooklyn setting in this production of the Tchaikovsky classic, featuring the Journey Dancers, guest performers and students and faculty from Brooklyn Music School. Pictured with the Borough President during the gala opening night are Robin Osborne, the show’s Artistic Director and some of the BMS students in the cast. Performances continue this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at 126 St. Felix Street, in the Fort Greene section of Brook-lyn, just around the corner from BAM. For information or reservations, call 718-638-5660.
